Vronny Charnwood is a character who began life in two of four short films featuring the Charnwood Sisters which were made between 2009 – 2017 and screened extensively in film festivals throughout various parts of the world. Vronny’s entries in this short series included “The Weekend Hostage” (2011) and “Burning Grief” (2017), both of which are now part of the National Screen and Sound Archive of Wales.
In 2018, it was decided to develop a ‘spin-off’ act which paired Vronny with a new character, Arwen Edwards, and they first appeared together at the Liverpool Everyman Theatre in a short play called “The Quarry Clock.”

Episode 01 - Arwen enlists Vronny in her campaign to save a Kashmiri goat from being recruited by the Army as a mascot, but can she out-manoeuvre the troops?

Episode 02 - Arwen is dragged along to a gallery preview night by Vronny and makes a bet with the gallery owner that she can succeed where others have failed in identifying who painted a series of donated canvasses.

Episode 03 - Arwen learns that she has inherited pirate treasure handed down through the generations from distant relatives, only to find that all that glitters isn’t gold.

Episode 04 - On a bleak off-season afternoon on the seafront at Carreg Tref, an exhausted visitor from another hemisphere drops in unexpectedly. Vronny and Arwen go to his aid but as events unfold, it becomes unclear who is rescuing whom?

Fenella’s Dilemmas Series
Episode 01 - The enfant terrible of modern art has signed a 10-year deal with a notorious hedge fund manager and put his contract on tour as a work of art in its own right. Fenella’s humble little gallery in North Wales has been selected as the tour’s “charity case.” Will she be obliged to accept his invitation against her better judgement?

Episode 02 - Fenella’s steampunk art exhibition is going well – until she loses her zeppelin. Glenn is enlisted to solve its disappearance, only for a series of strange events and encounters happening which lead both women to ask themselves whether they are solving a case of avarice, revenge, unscrupulous competition or maybe something driven by the spirit of steampunk.

Episode 04 - “It’s Death, Fen, but not as we know it!” Fenella’s community art gallery hosts a touring exhibition of living statues who are much livelier than statues ought to be. When a bunch of vengeful locals gatecrash the event to settle a long-standing grudge, Glenn and Monica must help Fen find a way of restoring peace on the western front.
